Hangzhou once again discovered that two ancient tombs were unearthed from the Warring States Crystal Cup.

As one of the areas of ancient tombs and burial protection areas in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, the Shitang to Banshan area of the city has unearthed many ancient tombs with scientific research value. Recently, two ancient tombs were discovered again in Banshan Town, Hangzhou. It is understood that according to preliminary speculation, the two tombs are from the Han Dynasty. Since the excavation work has not been completed, the identity of the grave owner, the scope of the tomb circle, and the value of the cultural preservation are still uncertain.

It is learned that the mid-mountain area in the north of Hangzhou is a traditional tomb area in Hangzhou, which is densely distributed throughout the ancient tombs.

In 1999, archaeologists discovered the national treasure-level cultural relics in the Mid-Levels - the crystal cup of the Warring States Period; in 2007, the large Southern Song tombs were excavated under the Xianning Temple Tower in the middle of the mountain; 12 ancient tombs unearthed in 2004, spanning from the Warring States Period To the Northern Song Dynasty.

At present, there are more than 40 celebrity tombs recorded in the Mid-Levels.

A few days ago, the staff of the Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology carried out a temporary rescue excavation of the ancient tomb after receiving the clues provided by the masses.

Seen at the excavation site, the two tombs are very close together, about 8 or 9 meters apart, and the height is relatively small. Relative to the small tomb, the tomb has been basically unearthed and preserved more completely.

The cemetery is 60 or 70 centimeters deep, and the masonry is layered on top of it, enclosing a point that is nearly 3 meters long and 1 meter wide.

It is understood that the masonry of the construction of the tomb has a striking blue-blue color and a slender shape, which is quite similar to the common cake bricks in the Southern Song Dynasty. The masonry at the bottom of the tomb is also arranged in accordance with the "human" shape, which looks quite elegant.

"According to past experience and the information I have learned so far, it is presumed that both tombs are from the Han Dynasty," said Li Yulei, director of the Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.

Li Yulei said that the two graves contained traces of theft and destruction, and the information retained was relatively incomplete. However, from the perspective of archaeological research, the clues on them are important materials for modern people to explore ancient life and customs, and help to restore fragments of ancient historical life.

"The ancient tombs from the Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties were more common in the Mid-Levels." Lang Xufeng, deputy director of the Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, said that the identity of the two graves, the scope of the tombs, the value of the cultural preservation, etc. They are still unknown and still need further research to confirm.
